Mine is around 600 miles too, from Ft Lauderdale to Daytona Beach and back in a single day for bike week. However I want beat that record soon, Planning on Iron Butt.
500 Miles in a day.
629 miles - Dillsboro, IN to Harrison AR - through Paducah, KY and every back road I could find... I was pretty tired!! lol... but it was on an old wing... so pretty comfortable none-the-less. Gorgeous ride through the hills down there.

That sounds like a great ride Rod, how many states did you have to cross on that ride?
This is my first post on Rides N Roads, and by posting to this topic, I am going to show what an IDIOT I can be sometimes. He he.

A few years back, I had a fascination with riding long rides, such as the iron butts.
As you may know, SaddleSore is 1000 miles in under 24 hours / BunBurner is 1500 miles in under 36 hours!

After completing 2 of the SaddleSores, I began to wonder how hard it would be to complete a BunBurner Gold - 1500 miles in 24 hours. The more I thought about it, the more I had to try it. (kinda like marijuana back in the 70's)
Then I made the mistake of actually planning out a route. It was all over from there.

I am glad I got it out of my system, but please understand, I will NEVER do this again.
I started riding early in the morning about 6:00 AM. I had a great ride all day long. Beautiful weather, nice scenery and no mechanical problems. I rode and rode and rode. . .

I did fine until after 11:00 PM that night. when I began to get kinda tired. By 2:00 AM, I was really starting to have problems with fatigue. But I was my usual stubborn self with a single minded goal of finishing this ride. I do not even remember much about the last 4 hours, except for getting off the bike and doing some jumping jacks to try and force myself to stay awake, and having a couple of big rigs blaring their horns at my lousy riding. By then I was so tired that I could barely hold a straight line, and I was slowing down my speed because I was so tired that I couldn't keep up with the faster pace that I had set earlier. Luckily, this was between Kansas and Colorado, where there is not a lot of highway traffic. I have read where fatigued driving / riding can be just as dangerous as drunken driving / riding, but did not really believe it. I do now.

I am not one of those people that can stay up for 24 hours at a time and when you consider the consequences of a high speed crash, late at night on a desolate highway, where you probably wouldn't even be seen until first light - at best, well, I consider myself lucky to have survived this adventure.

Yes, I am an idiot sometimes.
Not sure if the image I posted will show the certificate in full size, so here is a hyperlink to the certificate where you can read the text.

Hi Motorcycle Maniac,

Thanks for your fist post and sharing your experience. I have been thinking about Iron butt myself, looks like you been there, done that long time ago. Congrats on finishing "BunBurner " . I don't think I will ever be able to do that in my life time. Even 1000 mile would be a bit of a stretch for me as I was sooo tired after 500 trip to Daytona.

I am planning on SaddleSore in September. Would you mind sharing how you prepared for Saddle Sore?

I think most of it depends on the roads you choose like highways or local or back roads and purpose of the ride. Sounds like good comfortable one day ride :)
My longest: this 600 mile ride in two days, last Summer:

Wow, that looks like a nice ride. Part of the route is in Canada?
Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas

On the way back - I went thru St. Louis - so AR, MO, IL, IN :)
I did an SS1K from Dover DE to Montreal and back 16 hours a bit over 1200 miles, It got me my IBA cert.
