I woke up Saturday morning thinking “Where is Robert”; it’s the same question that has been nagging me for a few years. I didn't have anything to do that day, so I decided to on a quest to find Robert. It’s been almost 10 years since I first met him on my way to
Everglades National Park. I packed my camera and started riding. The map below depicts my route.

Map
As shown in the map, my plan is to take Krome Ave from Tamiami trail to Homestead and Florida City. By the time I get started, traffic is already picking up and many motorcyclists are enjoying the perfect weather that Florida has to offer. For the people who have never been to South Florida, this route is full of farms, nurseries and beautiful scenery.
Due to the heavy traffic, it is proving really hard to get a good shot of the open road.

After few more tries, I think I got clean shot of Krome Ave.

Krome Avenue
Around 10 miles into my ride, I spotted a kid in the back seat of the car in front of me. He was staring longingly at the bike. All of a sudden he gave me the thumbs up sign with a huge smile on his face. I remembered my childhood and how I couldn't wait to grow up and get behind the handlebars.
Most of the road here has farms and nurseries on either side.

Nursery

This reminded me of my grandma’s village in India.
All of a sudden, I caught something interesting from the corner of my eye. I am not sure what is it called but I believe they are watering the farm.

I came across a place where you can pick your own produce from the farm.

Right across from this place, on the other side of the road there is a place with a sign that says “Buy Rabbits”; unfortunately I couldn’t get a photo of it due to traffic. It is right after 184th ST.
It’s already been a while since I got started on my ride, but still no sign of Robert yet. I am beginning see signs that I am approaching a small town.

Homestead
I am beginning to get hungry as it is already past lunch time. After a few more miles I noticed I am entering Florida City, I started looking for my favorite road side Taco place, but it’s nowhere to be found. It’s been a few years since I visited that place; maybe it is closed and not in business anymore.
Still hungry, I keep on riding and then I am beginning to notice that I am finally reaching my destination.

Having finally met Robert, I decided to check out the fresh produce that they have. There are fresh Mangoes, Pineapples, Grapefruits, Tangerines, Tamarinds, Tomatoes and tons of new fruits I have never seen before. I got one of their famous Milkshakes and few mangoes.
