IMPORTANT Chaco Canyon correction

I was so darn thrilled to be there that I omitted a real important detail - you will never make it down the road with a street bike!!! I had put my Honda VTX 1300C in for scheduled maintainence (sp) in Farmington, NM and rented a car to get beat up on the road into Chaco. I did meet a couple of "dual sport" riders but to be honest, I'm not sure I would have ridden in. My humble apologies to all.

Chaco Canyon

I made "Chaco National Historical Park" (Chaco Canyon) Wednesday, 5/20. This is the real reason for this trip out west. I learned about Chaco Canyon 25 - 30 years ago via a T.V. show, probably PBS or National Geographic. I was fascinated and when I retired and put this motorcycle ride together I knew I was going to "Chaco." Don't misunderstand me, "Big Bend" was breathtaking. Chaco Canyon NM

Planning a long trip (FL - Grand Canyon - Glacier - Badlands - Vermont - Back down Blue Ridge Parkway - Fl) I'll be gone for about 4 months and it will take me near Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico. Their web site at http://www.nps.gov/chcu/index.htm says "The route includes 8 miles of paved road (CR 7900) and 13 miles of rough dirt road (CR7950)." Anyone ever been there?
