Motorcycle camping made easy with right motorcycle camping equipment and items

It seems like many of our friends on the site are going on cross-country rides involving great deal of motorcycle camping. I thought of putting together a list with some useful information that I gathered on the web and from my personal experience.

Most important aspects of motorcycle camping are preparation, planning and motorcycle camping equipment. The items you take on a ride make lot of difference. You can find lot of information on motorcycle camping and equipment on different motorcycle forums. The following is the list of motorcycle camping equipment and items that I usually take. You can add and remove things based on your requirements. I try to keep things light.

1. Credit card
2. Tire patch kit
3. Lock
4. Additional clutch cable
5. Extra fuses
6. Tooth brush, paste and comb
7. Towels
8. Shampoo, soap and shaving kit
9. Medications
10. GPS (ZUMO) and Maps
11. Cell phone
12. List of emergency contacts
13. First aid kit
14. Bug repellent
15. Duct tape
16. Batteries
17. Flash light
18. Snake bite kit
19. Air mattress
20. Sleeping bags
21. Tent and stuff
22. Toilet paper
23. Lantern
24. Matches/lighter

I do not like to cook when I am camping but for those of you who enjoy cooking.

25. Camp stove & fuel
26. Food
27. Can opener
28. Knife/fork/spoons
29. Condiments
30. Cooking pots/pans

In addition, do not forget to take condoms and things depending on how busy you are planning to get :).

Finally make sure to share your photos, videos and ride reports etc with us here, so rest of us can enjoy your ride vicariously :).

I know there are many others here who have been on long rides and camping, What other things you take on motorcycle camping?

Here is some more information.

Thanks Beemerchef , I haven't used Agness system so far, this would be really helpful. Would you mind sharing how it is and how much it costs?.

BMW Explorer aso... what do you think?
Big Agness system?... been using it for years. Very comfy. Tent? there are so so many good ones! really... I like 2 entries and big vestibule. I have a new one that Mountain Sun Touring send me... love it! It is a copy of the $1000 Hillberg. The vestibule is big enough I can cook in it in bad weather...
There is really so much good camping gear these days that it has become just a personal preference.
Spirit loves the sidecar!!! We just did a loop in Valley of the Gods... he has to have his head ahead of me!!!

Very cool site, Beemerchef!

How does your dog do in the sidecar? I'd love to have one and bring a lab do for rides...

I'm interested in recommendations for tents and sleeping bags. Newbie here, thinking of bike camping this year.

I don't know how to deal with videos!!! I am a bit behind the times within a space a bit backwards... But someone is going to help me soon...
Everything is really on the Blog, 400+ chapters I think. we are on the way to Valley of the Gods. as we will stay there 2 to 3 (???) weeks I will catch up... you know... typing! I am trying a new software to speak in... that is not working very well. Seems that Spirit has an easier time...
Thank... come and visit!!! Ara & Spirit
