RidesNRoads

On Saturday morning, May 9th, I'm leaving on a two week motorcycle trip. I live in central California, Visalia to be exact, but will be riding to Texas. I'm originally from Texas and will be meeting up with my brother from Arlington and cousin from the Houston area.

We will meet up in far west Texas and spend a couple of days riding the Big Bend National Park. After that, we have little planned. We intend to wander around the Hill Country. Probably go to San Antonio, maybe Austin. Mostly though, we will wander around on smaller two lane highways making it up as we go. Ahh.....this is going to be good.

I intend to post some photos and do a bit of blogging on the trip. I bought myself an HP Mini 1120NR netbook to take along. With high speed wireless internet available at most motels/hotels, I'll be in business. I chose a netbook because I pack very light.

I've gotten a new set of Pirelli's on my '07 VStar 1100. So far I love these tires. They turn easily, and the ride is good too. Over the next few months, I'll let ya'll know about their durability.

That's all for now. Have to go to work. Uggh.

Have a safe and wonderful trip. Living in Texas and haven't made the Big Bend trip but plan to soon. Good luck on the ride and look forward to some pics.

Y'all have a blast and make a safe trip out of it. We were in the Frio Canyon vicinity last May riding the Twisted Sisters. The Gold Wingers were registering 104 degrees out there during the day on their bikes in early May.

I will be watching for your posts as you go. Clear Skies to ya...

Minimum would be over 3,000 for me just going to Texas and back. How much wandering we will do determines the rest. On Grand Canyon and Zion ride last year, my brother Gordon and cousin Keith did north-to-south "W"s back and forth across Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas all the way home.
