After years of riding behind RD on our BMW, I wanted to get more riding time in and learn to drive for myself. I wanted to be prepared in case of emergency. The question became, which bike? Of course, I wanted a Ducati Monster. Or a Yamaha. Or a BMW. I knew I wanted it mostly to get around my little town because I'm not ready to give up my photo seat with RD on our cross country tours. So we decided on a Vespa. See the "Lesson." Safe riding to EVERYONE. The heat is staggering in OK. Don't blame Beemerchef for hanging in Montana till winter.

As for me. I'm having fun on this little bike. It moves pretty easy, much lighter weight. Mileage is amazingly outstanding as is insurance. But I'm holding out for the 1947 Vespa I found at their museum that has anti-tank missiles on either side of it. Don't know why I like it. Nope. Never saw a tank I couldn't get along with, so I'm puzzled.

Love your posts. Very entertaining post. I definitely agree with your comment "it takes a certain type of courage to get on a motorcycle essentially taking your own life in your hands, might I also add it takes even more courage to get on a motorcycle and put your life in someone else’s hands". I am afraid to sit in a car if I am not driving it.
